Su-Lin – Manager

Su-Lin performing the Wai Kru in Thailand – a traditional Thai dance to show respect for her opponent and her trainers

JAI’s manager loves Thai food and culture and takes care of the Pro-Shop and JAI students and trainers.

Prior to setting up JAI, she spent over 10 years working as a journalist in Asia, where she swapped make-up tips with Boy George, talked fashion with Alicia Keys, had high tea with David Beckham, supper with Anthony Bourdain, sipped champagne with Mandy Moore and chewed the fat with Ronan Keating.  She picked up Muay Thai after interviewing a Muay Thai fighter for CLEO Magazine and he convinced her to give it a go. After training for three months, she dropped three dress sizes and was hooked…  so much in fact that she gave up the pen for a pair of gloves.

She has competed  in Thailand, training in Muay Thai camps in Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Phuket, but she trains mainly for fitness, with an emphasis on grace, humility and technique rather than fighting. Read more about her first Thailand Muay Thai experience here.

After taking a break from fighting for a year, Su-Lin became the Chiang Mai Thapae Stadium champion in November 2014
