Su-Lin - Founder

JAI’s founder loves Thai food and culture and Muay Thai.

Prior to setting up JAI, she spent over 10 years working as a journalist. where she swapped make-up tips with Boy George, talked fashion with Alicia Keys, had high tea with David Beckham, supper with Anthony Bourdain, sipped champagne with Mandy Moore and chewed the fat with Ronan Keating.  She picked up Muay Thai after interviewing a Muay Thai fighter for CLEO Magazine and he convinced her to give it a go. After training for three months, she dropped three dress sizes and was hooked… so much in fact that she gave up the pen for a pair of gloves. Read more about her journey HERE

She has competed  in Thailand, training in Muay Thai camps in Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Phuket, but she trains mainly for fitness, with an emphasis on grace, humility and technique rather than fighting. Read why it’s not essential to fight HERE
